About the event

EMERGENCE was born from OUT THE STU, a podcast series interviewing 10 Bay Area designers created by Emergence founder Gaia Wu in 2022. This project evolved into the first Emergence fashion show in 2023 and our annual fashion shows have been growing ever since. Last year’s show, RAGE & PEACE, sold out over 300 attendees and featured 15 incredible local designers as well as music artists and danceperformances.

This year’s show, Future Ancestors, will take place on August 23 and feature 20
QT/BIPOC+ designers, live music and DJs, drag performers, local vendors, and
community resources. We are organizing several events leading up to the fashion show including art markets, concerts, resource fairs, and gallery shows. We are inviting you to join our community of 20 partner organizations and get involved in the Bay Area’s thriving QT/BIPOC arts community by sponsoring our fashion show and related events.

Why should you sponsor?

EMERGENCE centers LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC community artists, designers, models, and creatives, and offers them the platform, visibility, resources, and safe spaces to gather and create. In alignment with our vision, the theme of this year's show is “FUTURE ANCESTORS,” featuring 20 Bay Area designers exploring visions of our collective future. On August 23rd, we will present 30+ original designs along with live music, dance and drag performances, and an incredible community of models, hair/makeup artists, DJs, and more. Through this EMERGENCE, we are paving the way for marginalized communities to take the future into their hands, collaborate with curiosity, and craft a grand vision that includes us all.
